Good News: Is Faithful
Over the past week, we have contemplated why the Savior had to come. The world he created perfectly had rebelled against him and was headed for eternal condemnation. So God came with power to rescue and redeem his creation and reconcile sinners to God. In John, the Forerunner John, makes it very clear what he was sent to do. He is not the Messiah, the One God anointed to reconcile sinners. In Isaiah, the work and impact of the Lord’s Servant is described in great detail. We are the people who have been set free from slavery to sin, death, and the Devil. In 1st Thessalonians, we are reminded of what Christ’s work has done for us. With the pressure to be perfectly obedient taken away from us, we rejoice, pray, and give thanks because God has given us everlasting and adaptable joy. Rejoice in the Lord!
