Psalms of the Summer: Wisdom

Do you ever feel the pressure to make people happy? Do you ever tell supervisors and co-workers what you think they want to hear? Do you ever nod along with friends or family—even when you know they’re flat-out wrong? Life in this world often tests our commitment to the truth—to the will of God. Jesus had been sent by the Father to do his Father’s will. After miraculously feeding thousands, Jesus wanted them to see that what they really needed wasn’t another meal, but food that bestows eternal life. So he told them the truth. They were making the same mistake as their ancestors. They were foolishly rejecting the living bread that the Father sent for their salvation. Yet, God has opened our eyes to see who Jesus really is and what he has done. Moved by God’s grace, we praise him with all our heart.
