Acts of God: Safeguarding

Everyone dies. No matter how rich or poor, no matter how powerful or downtrodden, no matter how successful or how much of a failure they seemed to be, every single person dies. This reality caused King Solomon great consternation (see Ecclesiastes) because he realized that even though he was a wealthy, powerful, and successful king, death still had power over him and his kingdom. Today, David’s greater Son, Jesus demonstrates that he has real power over death. Most shockingly, he gives physical life to a dead girl. God also gives spiritual life to those who are outwardly wasting away. God’s powerful love is the reason we are not consumed by death. Jesus brings real life to people who are feeling the real pains of death. In Christ, anyone—no matter how wealthy or poor, influential or overlooked, powerful or powerless—will receive everlasting life. This is the treasure God gives to us all!
