The Ambitious Church Has a Different Mindset

As we conclude our study of what the ambitious church loves and looks like, we recall what God our heavenly Father is looking for. He wants his people to be those who say yes to his commands and follow through with humility and joy. In a word, our God expects obedience. So, we must ask ourselves: Have we been obedient to his Word? Have we loved God above all things and our neighbor as ourselves? A careful look at our hearts and lives exposes how we have fallen short. Too many times, we are like the son who says all the right things but doesn’t do them. With this guilt and shame laid bare, we look to the Son who doesn’t just say all the right things, but does all the righteous things that our Father requires. He is Jesus. The God-man who humbled himself to be our servant, our substitute, our Savior, and the model for a life of humble service to one another.
