Christmas has been described as the most wonderful time of the year. Maybe it's the lights, or the songs, or the upbeat music that makes people feel that way. Many get into the Christmas spirit quickly and easily. But not everyone does. For some people this time of year increases their stress and anxiety levels. Perhaps you can relate to that, too. Christmas is a gift of God. It is the time of year when we celebrate God's unconditional love for the world. But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son...to redeem us and make us his children. (Galatians 4:4-5) Christmas must be centered on God's gift, Jesus Christ. When it's not it quickly becomes an impossible task or an expensive project. Christmas is also meant to be a time of peace and joy. But, unless we find our peace and joy in the Christ-child, that peace is nothing more than a passing experience and that joy is little more than seasonal euphoria. So as we prepare for Christmas we have some gifts for you. The first is a devotional resource. The second is an invitation. Join us on December 24th (6pm) for an evening of songs and a stirring reminded of the gift God gave us in Jesus or on Christmas Day (9am) as we behold the wonder of the Christ-child.
